Tabata Timer — legal document
Privacy Policy
How the Tabata Timer - HIIT Workout app collects, uses, and protects your workout data.
What data we collect
Tabata Timer is a Tabata/HIIT interval timer with history and gamification. We only collect what you enter directly into the app:
- Workout settings — interval durations, number of rounds, your exercise list, screen color, and voice/music preferences.
- Workout history — date, time, duration, whether you completed the workout, and any optional notes you add (e.g. weight used, how you felt).
- Unlocked medals — which achievements you've earned, and when.
We don't require an account, and we don't ask for your name, email, or any other identifying information. We don't collect location or advertising data.
Where your data is stored
All of the data above is stored exclusively on your own device. The app has no server of its own, requires no online account, and doesn't automatically send anything over the internet. If you choose a custom audio file from your phone for background music, it's played locally and never uploaded anywhere.
| Category | Where it's stored | Is it shared? |
|---|---|---|
| Workout settings | Locally, on your device | No |
| Workout history + notes | Locally, on your device | No, unless you manually export a backup |
| Unlocked medals | Locally, on your device | Only if you choose to share a medal image |
| Backup file (if exported) | Wherever you choose to save/send it | No, unless you send it yourself |
Security and backup
The backup file created by the app is not encrypted and not password-protected — it's a plain file, created locally, that you decide where to send or keep. Treat it like any other personal document: don't send it to people or services you don't trust.
You can permanently delete all of the app's data at any time by uninstalling the app from your phone.
Your rights
Since all data is stored locally, you're always in direct control of it: you can view it anytime in the app (the History tab), export it via a backup, or delete it entirely by uninstalling the app. If you have questions about your data, you can reach us at the contact address below.
Children
The app is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 — in fact, the app doesn't collect identifying information from anyone, regardless of age.
